3D models for MK3S+

Hello,

I'm looking for STEP files that I can import into Fusion 360 for the Einsy box on the MK3S+.  For some reason, my printer's box is jam packed in there.  I'd like to play with the model to make it a little deeper so there's more room for air flow around the Einsy board in there.   I can find the STEP files for the MK2 on GitHub, and I can find the STLs on the Prusa website, but I can't find the STEP for the MK3S+.

Thanks!

Use the little drop box to select the release at the top-left on GitHub.

@bobstro

Thanks for your reply. When I do that, the STEP folder doesn't have the Einsy box, but the SCAD folder does.  Maybe I can use SCAD to export to STEP.  (I know it could be one in SCAD directly, but not by me.)

As I understand it, Prusa switched over to another 3D design package from OpenSCAD relatively recently. Many part designs are still in OpenSCAD, while newer are provided in STEP format.

And unfortunately, OpenSCAD doesn't export into any 3d format that Fusion 360 can import.

This part, however, is pretty basic.  I think I can make one myself based on manual measurements and the STL.

Thanks again!

You could also look on thingiverse.  There are plenty of models which fit your needs.  I'm using the Universal Einsy Box, myself. Plenty of space and options (raspi, MMU, Bear or stock frame) included.

They almost all have the door open towards the outside of the frame.  No more climbing over the bed.

Thank you.  I was able to pick out the Einsy box from one the grabcad link you gave, and can now modify it.  I'll put my stuff on Thingiverse when I'm done.

@rickseiden

It would be interesting and helpful for many if you would also publish your variant or present it here.
Good luck!
